ATTORNEY PROFILE

This year Craig Muessig is celebrating thirty-six years of representing seriously injured accident victims and their families throughout the state of Texas. He has successfully represented injured refinery and chemical plant workers in major cases against Exxon, Chevron, Shell, Monil, and Lyondell. He represented three workers in the British Petroleum Plant explosion in Texas City in 2005 and those cases were so successfully settled that, at the insistence of British Petroleum, the settlement amounts are confidential.

Muessig has obtained many large jury verdicts and settlements for his clients. Shortly after the office opened, Craig represented Baytown widow, Linda Bartgis, who lost her husband in an 18-wheeler accident. The 18-wheeler case against defendant Independent Refining Corporation settled immediately prior to trial for $2,000,000.

Muessig won a $958,000 verdict for a Brenham resident who had major neck surgery after being seriously injured in an auto accident with a drunk driver. Channelview industrial worker, Dave Fenner, suffered third degree burns caused by a defective electrical safety switch and turned to Muessig resulting in a $918,000 settlement prior to trial.

When Pasadena residents, Ray and Emma Garcia, lost their newborn daughter as a result of the negligence of Pasadena Bayshore Hospital, they turned to Mr. Muessig and a Harris County jury awarded $605,000 in damages in a case defended by Fulbright and Jaworski, who, at the time, was the largest law firm in the South.

When Liberty County resident, Bessie Parson, was seriously injured in an automobile accident with a Hardin Independent School District school bus that broke her leg, she turned to Muessig for justice, resulting in a settlement of $84,000. The case was settled in the middle of trial in the 75th District Court of Liberty County.
